Scope of Work

CaratLane is a well-reputed jewellery designer and producer available on the website, Android, and iOS devices, making beautiful and perfect pieces of jewellery accessible and wearable for special occasions and everyday lifestyles.

The platform needed a new component integration in its Android architecture and also wanted to shift its fulfilment from Ruby on Rails to Nest JS technology. DianApps stepped in to help the team of CaratLane with expert advice, and better usability of the platform alongside new feature add-ons.

Project Goals

Latest Android API integration without hampering existing ones

The CaratLane client wanted to carry forward with their pledge to remain modern and provide the latest design and seamlessness to its Android users without compromising the previous customer flow and infrastructure of the application. The team of DianApps provided full-time development support by integrating the SMS retriever API into Android devices.

Audit Logging within the Existing System

Managing a huge user base was not easy, therefore, the client was looking to change the way they supervise user behaviour while tracking their actions on the go. Our team of developers helped integrate the audit log into the existing system for more efficient workflow.

Research

Since the app was previously worked on and already had its team of developers along with another outsourced team, we had the added responsibility of changing the monolithic architecture into micro-service architecture for fulfillment-related tasks. What’s more, was converting the existing technology to Nest JS (a complex yet popular Node JS framework) and updating Android APIs with the latest features and cutting-edge solutions.

Delay Delivery Trigger

Solving the Challenge:

CaratLane has warehouses and delivery offices at every corner of India. In case of delay in delivery, they needed an instant solution to constantly monitor and analyze orders while keeping track of delivery partners. This set off a careful analysis strategy which our team was able to overcome by successfully integrating the “Delay Delivery Trigger” feature in the CaratLane platform.

Challenge 2:

Integrate New Components in the Android Infrastructure

Solving the Challenge:

CaratLane already had its Android app developed when our team got the project. It involved many older APIs and a large set of customer information which the client was not ready to compromise. Our team of Android devs took the responsibility of integrating the latest APIs such as SMS Retriever API, inducement of Jetpack Compose, and its components relevant to CaratLane without hampering the old customer flow and architecture of the app.

Huge Code-Base

Being the number one Indian jewellery brand, CaratLane has a huge code base alongside of large user base which requires the inducement of cutting-edge technology integration that is not only seamless but also convenient per customer. We gave the best-in-class solutions and continuous supervision that resulted in overcoming this challenge with ease.

In order to evaluate the design of the application, a prototype is released to enhance precision as inputted by players.
